Law School Graduate and Looking for a Job

So maybe you went to Law school to avoid those entry-level and minimum wage positions, but unless you were able to build your connections during college, you will probably have to start there. Especially with the economy where it is, making the right connections is key to your career path.
Begin networking online with social profiles, blogs, and public forums. The Internet is a great tool for managing your reputation and if you are able to get a hiring agency or career path company behind you, you are likely to score more interviews. If you are passionate about a particular field of law, talk about it on your blog and you will get feedback from others out there on the World Wide Web. You might also learn a few useful skills.
Attend social events. The best way to find relevant events is through your alma mater. Whether these events take place at your college or at random law offices, any event with people you want to be associated with is a good excuse to mingle your way into your future career. It does not have to be as awkward as a handshake and a business card, but you will begin to see some of the same faces and learn about job openings at various firms in your area.
Be open to everything. Though you might have an ultimate goal in mind, do no turn down any opportunities to gain experience. It is better to work part time in any legal field than not at all. You might even have to accept some unpaid internships for a few months to actually get your foot in the door to find a somekeyword. If you can afford it, take whatever is offered to you with the best connections and the highest likelihood of producing a paid position.
Swallow your pride. Be prepared to ask people you know if they know of any openings, and simultaneously brace yourself for rejection. Use all the connections you have, pull some strings, and just put yourself on the market. You will probably suffer many blows to your pride before getting your dream job, but it will pay off in the long run.
