James 'whitey' Bulger Used Fake Id Cards To Stay On Run For 16 Years

Fugitive James 'Whitey' Bulger 81 has finally been captured in Santa Monica US after 16 years on the run. Bulger was wanted in connection with 19 murders which put him in Americas top 10 most wanted list along with Asama Bin laden. The FBI had even put a 2 million dollar reward on his capture. He used a number of somekeyword to keep his real identity a secret allowing him to stay on the run for such a long time. Filmmaker Martin Scorsese based his film "The Departed" on James 'Whitey' Bulger in 2007, Bulger was played by Jack Nicholson and the film won 4 Oscars.

Whitey Bulger was involved in the Winter Hill gang in the 60's and 70's with most of them being Irish-Americans. The gang members ran drug rackets, loan Sharking and gambling around the Boston area but Bulger disappeared just before he was due to be arrested in connection with the 19 killings. After his disappearance it came to light that Bulger had been working as an informant for the FBI and helping turn in rival gang members. The FBI was accused of turning a blind eye to the crimes the Winter Hill gang were committing.
